This pond yacht is based very much on a working/fishing boat design. She was carved from solid pine, hollowed, with a separate hardwood deck. The long keel is lead ballast and is attached direct to the hull. All these factors suggest very strongly that she was built at the end of the 19th century.
She has a wonderful wineglass shape and the paintwork is original but it quite distressed especially on the port side. The deck has its original varnish and has planks scored into it. The deck fittings are all original.
The yacht is gunter rigged and the mainsail and the top spar have a lovely curve to them. The sails are in good order but they are stained. The mast, boom and top spar are original but it is likely that that the bowsprit and the jib boom have been replaced.
This is a very attractive early yacht which could be displayed as she is or restored.
The stand is oak but is not as old as the yacht. It is included in the sale if required.
