This very striking pond yacht was made by Alexander of Preston. She is a very early model with the spoon bow hull shape of the time.
The colour scheme of black with a green waterline is generally associated with Hamleys of London.
Although she has obviously been sailed she is totally original. All the deck fittings, spars, and most importantly the sails are all original. The ivorine name plaque is present and correct and let into the toerail.
However, as you can see in the photos the paintwork has deteriorated over the years. She can be displayed as she is or you could consider repainting her in the original colour scheme.
She really is a wonderfully collectable yacht and so evocative of the early days of Alexander.
The stand is not as old as the yacht but is in the style of a genuine Alexander and is included in the sale if required.
