This is a wonderfully decorative  pond yacht sold by Gamages in the early 1930's. She has her original black and salmon paintwork with a gold coachline.

This yacht has been heavily sailed so it is difficult to know how much of her is original. Overall the hull is in good condition but has plenty of marks from sailing.

The deck is original but has some historic wood worm. Although it is historic it has been treated before being offered for sale.

The rudder is original but the tiller is missing.

The rig is a Bermuden sloop but, considering the amount of sailing she must have done, may have been changed. For example the sails are from the 1930's with a thin blue stripe indicative of the period. However, they appear to be home made.

Also it is unlikely that the bowsprit is original. Normally we remove bowsprits for delivery however, this one is nailed to the yacht and cannot be removed.

Silver Waves is a lovely yacht and with with the amount of sailing she must have done highly evocative of the heyday of pond yacht sailing.
