You could be forgiven for thinking this yacht was produced by Suggs of Liverpool. However the large London Stores of the 1920's and 30's sold Pond yachts of a very similar design.

In our opinion this yacht would have been sold by one of them probably in the early 1930's.

The hull was carved from solid, hollowed with a separate hardwood deck. The hull has a wonderful "wineglass" shape with a long keel and lead ballast. The hull is in good order and has its original  black and salmon colour with a gold coachline.

There is some paint loss on the hull especially along the hull/deck joint and on the bow. There are also some marks from sailing.

The deck has a lovely colour, is original, with plank lines drawn on it. Again there are some marks in the varnish. There is a crack in the deck at the stern, however it is not recent and is not moving.

The sails are original and in good condition for their age with no tears and just a few pinprick holes. However, they are quite stained mainly with rust .

One or two of the spars may have been replaced and the jib boom has been repaired. The bowsies and hooks appear original but some of the rigging has been renewed.

Please have a good look at the photos to appreciate the " as sailed " condition.

This is a rare and very pretty yacht from a wonderful era.

The stand is not original but is included in the sale if required.
