This delightful and very decorative yacht was sold by Star in the 1930's as "Star Hollow Yacht Bermuda Type" pond yacht. She is 18 inches long so would have been marketed as a BR4 and would have cost 168 shillings for 2.
This yacht has been sailed and her condition reflects this.
The blue paintwork is original but is distressed especially around the waterline. The deck is generally in good order with original fittings but the deck edge does have a small area of delamination on both sides.
The sails are original and although there is some staining generally they are good for their age. A number of the cringles have been repaired. The mast and boom are original but the bowsprit and jib boom appear to have been replaced at some point. The rigging has been renewed.
With their pastel paint schemes these Star yachts are very popular with interior designers.
Overall this is a very collectable yacht.
The stand is not as old as the yacht but is included in the sale if required.
