This very attractive racing pond yacht was reputedly made by Alexander of Preston. There are certainly similarities with other Alexanders but it is not a design with which we are familiar.

The deck, fittings and spars all remind us of Alexander but please have a good look at all the photos and decide for yourselves.

She appears to have been made to a racing class as she has MY1 on the manisail but we have not been able to find any details. If you have knowledge of this class or design we would very much like to hear from you.

The hull appears to have been made from solid, hollowed, with a separate deck. The hull has been finished very well indeed and has its original paintwork. There are marks and scratches from sailing.

The keel is separate and bolted through the hull and has some paint loss.

The rig is all original but the sails are in poor order. The head of the main has been repaired and there is a tear near the tack.

We would advise that this yacht is offered for display. If it was intended to return her to the water she would require some attention. The keel is not stable or straight and the sails would need to be replaced.

The stand is not as old as the yacht but is included in the sale if required.
