This pond yacht is based on a 19th century fishing boat or pilot cutter design.

She was carved from solid mahoghany, hollowed, and fitted with a separate deck. The long keel has lead ballast. She has a wonderful wine glass hull shape with a straight stem.

All these factors suggest very strongly that she was built at the end of the 19th century, probably around 1880/90.

The deck is not original and would need to be replaced. Also there is some damage on the keel so the ballast would need to be removed and refitted after repairs. Otherwise the hull is in good order and has been stripped back to the wood.

Obviously she would need a rig which may have been single masted similar to a pilot cutter or two masted like a fishing lugger.

Please have a good look at the photos as they form an important part of the description. If you require any more then please do not hesitate to ask.

A large but very worthwhile project.
