Gannet of Cove is a 36 inch restricted yacht. Built for racing she still has her club pennant which appears to show a fox and 3 artillery pieces. We have been unable to identify this particular club so if you know please get in touch.
When we discovered her our first thought that she was made to the design in the famous 1950 book "Build yourself a model yacht" by Daniels and Tucker . However, on comparison with the plans we found some small differences on the keel. We still feel that either Daniels or Tucker may have designed her. If you can suggest an alternative , again please get in touch as we would very much like to know.
Gannet is all original but obviously she has been sailed a great deal. Consequently the paintwork has some marking and there is some paint loss. As you would expect she has a wonderful hull shape.
The sails are original. They  have some small holes and there is a poor repair to the mainsail. They are certainly in a condition which would allow her to be displayed but if you wish to return her to the water then a modern set of sails would be required.
 Overall her condition is very good considering she is around 75 years old and has been raced. Please have a look at the photos as they give a good idea of the standard of this rare yacht.
She has her original carrying handle and is still fitted with her "regatta display" flags.
