Ailsa yachts were made by the Turner family in Largs, Scotland for many years both before and after the Second World War. This model is made of aluminium so is a post war example.
The hull paintwork is very striking in original red with a gold coachline and cream below the waterline.
This yacht has been sailed but the hull is in good condition with just a small dent on the port quarter and some marks on the keel and ballast.
The wooden deck is in good condition with its original varnished finish. There are a few marks on the deck and a small area of damage on the stern.
The deck fittings and name plaque are all original.
The sails are original and have a few stains. There is a small tear and some pinprick holes in the mainsail. All the rigging, bowsies and hooks are original.
This Ailsa is in really good order for a yacht which has been sailed.
The stand is homemade and not as old as the yacht but as it shows the yacht very well it is included in the sale.
