Ailsa yachts were made in Largs, Scotland for many years both before and after the Second World War. This model is made of aluminium so it was produced after the war. She has been named Elsa which suggests she was purchased in the mid 1960's.
The hull paintwork is original red with a gold coachline with yellow below the waterline.
The yacht has been sailed but is in good condition with just a few marks and some paint loss on the ballast. The wooden deck is in good condition with its original varnished finish. There are a few marks on the deck edge from sailing especially at the bow.
The deck fittings and name plaque are original. However, the yacht has obviously been stored wet at some point. Consequently the eyes have verdigris and one or two on the rig have been replaced.
The sails are terylene and are in good order. There are a few stains and mildew marks. There is one small tear on the leech of the jib. All the spars, hooks and bowsies are original. Much of the rigging has been renewed.
The stand is homemade but shows the yacht very well. It is included in the sale if required.
