This very attractive varnished pond yacht was made by Alexander of Preston. She is called Heather Belle and has the original name plaque on the deck.
Not unusually for an Alexander she has been sailed. The varnish is original but there are some marks, above and below the waterline.
The deck varnish is also original but again there are some marks. All of the deck fittings are present and original including the sheet horse and the braine steering. It has black plank lines and a mahogany toe rail.
The sails are in good condition considering they have been sailed. There are some water stains and storage stains but no holes or tears. The mainsail is original, but although in similar condition, the jib may be a replacement. If so it was professionally made.
The hooks and bowsies are all original but all the rigging is likely to have been replaced. The spars are all alloy. The mast and boom are painted but the jib boom is not.
The stand is in the style of those supplied by Alexander but is probably homemade. It is included in the sale if required.
She is a beautiful yacht with the wonderful quality hull shape you expect from Alexander and Sons.
At 29 inches LOA she is larger than a lot of Alexanders production and so is highly collectable.
