Clyde Craft Ltd produced "Minature Racing Yachts" during the 1950's and 60's in Busby Glasgow.
Little is known of the company and it appears that few of their yachts have survived to the present day. In 10 years of buying and selling pond yachts this is only the second we have been able to offer.
The hull shape is outstanding, with a lovely sheer, and rivals Alexander for the standard of construction and finish.
One of their yachts called "Jubilee" was supplied to Her Majesty the Queen.
This particular yacht has been sailed as she has a small amount of damage on the bow and a few paint chips. However, the paintwork is totally original and very attractive with white above the waterline and turquoise below.
The deck has its original varnish and all the fittings including the unique steering gear are original. The faux hatch is also original. The famous Clyde Craft "signature" is in good order on the deck close to the stern.
There appear to be a couple of cracks around the mast foot but the deck is completely solid.
The spars are original. The mast is two piece although this may be a repair rather than an original fitting. The sails are in wonderful order with no holes or tears and only a couple of small stains.
There is a lovely Blue Ensign at the mast head.
These yachts are incredibly rare and to find one in such original condition is remarkable.
The stand is homemade but is included in the sale if required.
The yacht can be supplied with PDF copies of the Clyde Craft brochure, price list and sailing instructions if required.
