This yacht was made by Alexander of Preston in their famous fin and skeg design. 
She is varnished and considering that this yacht has been sailed she is in very good order. It appears she has been overvarnished at some point.
There is a little damage at the bow and scratch marks on the bottom of the keel. 
The deck has a wonderful colour with its original varnish. There is an original ivorine "Heather Elf" plaque just aft of the mast.
All the deck fittings are original including the sheet horse and the braine steering. 
The rig is in really good order. All the spars, hooks and bowsies are original.
The sails are original and in very good condition. There is  some staining but there are no holes or tears.   
She still has her original box which probably explains why, after all these years, she is is in such great condition.
Alexanders are generally accepted to be the best of all the commercially produced yachts. Certainly they are the most collectable and prices, for good examples, have increased over the last few years.
