This pond yacht was made in Largs in Scotland in the years between the wars. Largs was the home of the Turner family who for many years produced the Ailsa range of yachts.

This particular yacht is unusual because of her size. The majority of Ailsa production was between 14 and 20 inches. At 24 inches plus bowsprit she is much rarer.

She was made in the early 1930's and carved from a solid pitch pine with a separate deck. All the deck fittings are original and there is a delightful faux cabin top just aft of the mast.

She has the usual metal keel. She has her original varnished finish. She has been sailed so there are some marks but overall she is in remarkable condition for her age.

The sails are in really good order with just a few rust stains. There are no holes or tears. The sails are made of the striped material so indicative of that era.

The boom may have been replaced at some point but the other spars and hooks are original. The rigging and bowsies have been renewed.

She is a very decorative and collectable yacht.

The stand is not as old as the yacht but sets the yacht very well. It is included in the sale if required.
