This pond yacht is based on a 19c, early 20c, fishing boat design. She reminds us a lot of Falmouth Working Boats which you can still see to this day racing in Falmouth Harbour.

She was carved from solid pitch pine, hollowed, and fitted with a lovely oak deck. She has a faux rudder included in the keel with lead ballast. All these factors suggest very strongly that she was built at the end of the 19th century.

There is a wonderful wineglass shape to the hull. The paintwork is very distressed especially on the starboard side and the lovely grain of the pitch pine can be seen in the gaps in the paint.

She is fitted with a cut down mast and a bowsprit which, although they are unlikely to be original, suggest that the yacht has been displayed for the last few years.

The attractive stand is included in the sale but is not as old as the yacht.

If you are looking for a decorative display yacht then she is worthy of your consideration.
