This long keel pond yacht would have been made in the late 19th or the first few years of the twentieth century. She is in very good condition for her age basically because she has been stored throughout her life in her original box.

Arethusa has a lovely hullshape, carved from solid, with added lead ballast. She has her original paintwork, white with dark grey below the waterline. The rubbingstrake is picked out in blue. There are some marks on the hull and some paint loss although the overall standard is good considering her age.

The deck is original, coloured brown with plank lines. She is fitted with a very early steering system.

The rig is very simple with a large jib and gaff mainsail. The sails are original but have some water and rust stains. There are no holes or tears.

The box is in very good order although the paper covering is starting to break up.

Arethusa Of Bristol is an extremely pretty and decorative yacht.
