The Western Star was the largest of the post war SB "Super Bermuden" range of yachts. 
This yacht was acquired from her original owner who remembers telephoning the factory when he heard it was about to close. He purchased the yacht believing that she is one of the last produced and possibly the last Western Star. He has confirmed these circumstances in writing.
He also stated that the yacht has never been sailed. 
The hull has its original paintwork of white with blue. She is basically as she came from the factory. The Western Star transfers are perfect.
The deck has all original fittings including the self steering gear. The varnish is original and is again in "as new " condition. The transfer is perfect and there are plank lines drawn on the deck.
The rig is all original and the sails, apart from one waterstain on the mainsail, are as she came from the Star factory.The spars, bowsies, hooks and rigging are all original. 
The stand is original from the factory. The owner extended the stand to give greater stability but this can be removed if required. The stand is included in the sale. 
It is difficult to imagine that there is another yacht available with this background.
