During the covid lockdown of 2020 Pond Yacht Antiques approached Grove Pond Yachts,one of the foremost pond yacht manufacturers in this country, with the idea of producing a "brand new" Star of Birkenhead pond yacht.
It was decided to scan a 1930's round stern BR hull and combine the lines with arguably the most attractive colour scheme of the post war BRs, the black and varnish Meteorite.
Over the next 12 months 3 yachts were produced to modern standards and tolerancies.
With the help of Graham Hunt from the Star Birkenhead Appreciation Society, they were sailed on the boating lake at Birkenhead to find out how they compared with the original Meteorite.
This is the last of the three to be sold and apart from the sailing trials she has spent the last few years stored in her original box.
There are two tiny marks on the portside otherwise she is basically as she was when made.
She comes with her original stand and box.
