The Planet is one of the post WWII BR range of Star Production pond yachts.

Due to their vibrant colours the BR's are probably the most decorative and therefore the most collectable of all the Star yachts.

This particular yacht is an early example dating from the 1950's. She has the round stern and the brass deck fittings which are "left overs" from the 1930's.

The paintwork is all original, red above the waterline and varnish below.

She has been sailed extensively so there are a number of paint chips, marks and stains on the hull. The Planet transfers are in good order.

The deck has original varnish and fittings. The deck edge has been affected by the sailing and has a number of areas where the varnish has been rubbed away. This is most notably amidships on the port side. There is also one area forward on the port side where the deck has just started to delaminate.

The sails are original and in good condition for their age and considering how much sailing this yacht has done. There are a couple of very small holes in both the mainsail and the jib. There is an area of waterstain on the jib. The cringles are original. The mast, boom and hooks are original but all the rigging and bowsies have been renewed. Not surprisingly the bowsprit has been replaced.

All large Stars are now very collectable especially this range as they are very popular with interior designers.

This particular yacht has a lovely feel about her as she has survived quite a hard life.

She is offered at a price commensurate with her condition.

The stand is home made but is included in the sale if required.

Please have a good look at the photos to get a overview of this yachts condition.
