This very attractive pond yacht was made by Alexander of Preston. She has the original JA Alexander transfer on the deck.

Not unusually for an Alexander she has been sailed extensively so there are marks on the hull and in the paintwork. There are small areas of damage on the deck edge and on the trailing edge of the keel.

The paintwork above the waterline is original but below she has been repainted.

All of the deck fittings are present and original including the sheet horses and the braine steering. The deck has its original varnish. The JA transfer is in good order but there are some marks in the varnish.

The spars are original, alloy, and painted silver. There are some paint marks.

All the hooks and bowsies are original but some of the rigging has been renewed.

Remarkably the sails are original. They are in very good condition with just some foxing and water stains but no holes or tears. There is a black line on the jib.

This Alexander is quite rare as she has the JA transfer rather than a name plaque. This suggests that she was sold by Alexanders themselves rather than one of the large stores of the time such as Hamleys, or Bassett-Lowke.

The stand is in the style of those supplied by Alexander but is homemade.

It is included in the sale if required.

She is a beautiful yacht with the wonderful quality hull shape you expect from Alexander and sons.

Very pretty Alexander pond yacht in "as sailed" condition-Sold
