This pond yacht dates from the first few years of the 1930's. She was purchased from the daughter of the original owner and he was born in 1926.
He sailed her throughout the 1930's on the many lakes in London.
She was most probably scratch built but has a lovely hull shape with lead ballast and a semi fixed rudder. Despite being sailed in London she is very similar to the famous Southwold yachts of the same era.
The paintwork of pale green is original but is distressed. There is some paintloss on the keel.
The deck has its original varnish which gives it a lovely colour.
Both the hull and deck have areas of crackled paint and varnish which due to the age of the yacht.
The sails are in surprisingly good condition for their age considering that the yacht has been sailed so regularly. The jib has a couple of small tears and both sails have some staining. Much of the rigging has been renewed.
She is a very attractive/decorative yacht from the hayday of pond yacht sailing.
The stand is included in the sale if required. It is probably not as old as the yacht.
