In the 1930's Star Productions produced Fishing Smacks both for themselves and for Lines Bros (Triang). This particular model is the largest of the range they produced for themselves.
Both the Star and the Triang models appear not to have been made in large numbers and consequently they are amongst the rarest of models produced in Birkenhead.
The hull is in very good condition for its age with original stain and varnish. The deck fittings are all original including the brass plaque. The rudder is also original.
The original anchor is still present.
The rig as been replaced at some point. The sails are in good condition with just a few stains. There are no holes or tears. 
We have been offering Stars for sale for some 8 years now and this is only the second fishing smack we have been able to supply.
The stand is not as old as the yacht but is included in the sale if required.
Star yachts are very collectable now and rare models, such as this, especially so.
