This yacht is the largest of the Modav range of yachts made by Model Avionics of Old Kent Road, London in the 1950's and 60's.
They state in the brochure that the yacht "derives its design from the International Dragon class. The hulls are vacuum formed from high impact styrene with a deepened keel incorporating a moulded lead weight for ballast. The marine quality plywood deck is bonded to the hull with the finest industrial adhesive."
The K30 also had a metal trim fitted over the hull deck joint.
This particular yacht has not been sailed. In the photos you can see there is a crack amidships on the port side. However, there is no movement and, other than that, she is as she left the factory.
All the deck fittings are original. The rig and sails are also original and in perfect condition. The rigging is quite complicated but it is explained thoroughly in the enclosed original brochure
The stand is also original and is included in the sale.
It is unclear how many of these yachts were sold, as the manufacturer was better known for model aircraft.
From experience they are quite rare and to find one in "as new" condition is very unusual. The ones we have seen have all been sailed.
