Clyde Model Dockyard of Argyll Arcade Glasgow were famous for selling mechanical and wooden toys from the late 18th century until the 1970's. Many of their pond yachts were made by other companies such as Ailsa Yachts of Largs. However, they also sold some very high class and expensive yachts.

This particular yacht was made in the early 1930's and features the wonderful "wineglass" hull shape for which CMD were famously known.

She has her original paintwork of black and gold. There are some sailing marks and paint loss on the stern but overall it is very good considering its age.

The hull is hollowed with an original hardwood deck with cut plank lines.

The sails are in good condition for their age and made from the lovely 1930's material with a slight blue stripe. However, they have been sailed so there are a number of repairs especially on the mainsail and at the head of the gaff. They are quite heavily stained so please have a look at the photos as they show the overall condition very well. If you would like further photos please do not hesitate to ask.

Some of the rigging has been renewed but the hooks, bowsies, and rigging rings are all original.

She is a very rare yacht indeed and with her gaff rig very evocative of the era.

Larger Clyde Model Dockyard yachts are now amongst the most collectable of pond yachts.

The stand is not as old as the yacht but shows the wonderful hullshape very well. It is included in the sale if required.
