This model cargo ship is based on a 1930's, carved from solid, Bassett Lowke 31 inch hull.

However, whilst the basics are from B-L, the superstructure appears to be home made. The paintwork is correct for the era but has been renewed more recently.

The deck fittings which appear to be from BL, include a windlass, anchors etc.

The hull has external lead ballast. There is a prop shaft fitted with a large 3-bladed prop. The rudder is original and, although currently seized, has a pin rack.

Please have a good look at the photos which give an indication of the standard of workmanship.

This is a very decorative boat but you could consider restoring her to a sailing condition. Obviously she would need a motor. In the 1930's this would have been either electric or clockwork. However, there is suffcient space that even a steam plant could be fitted.

The stand is not as old as the boat but sets the ship off well and it is included in the sale if required.
