This rare warship model is based on a 1930's, carved from solid, Bassett Lowke 39 inch destroyer hull. She is fitted with a B-L High Class Horizontal electric motor. It also dates from the 1930's. She also has a B-L torpedo tube switch.
However, whilst the basics are from B-L, the superstructure appears to be home made. Please have a good look at the photos which give an indication of the standard.
The motor has not been tested and the wiring would need to be replaced. There is no battery box.
The hull has external lead ballast. The motor drives a large 2-bladed prop.
There appears to be navigation lights in the bridge but they are no longer connected.
The masts have been broken and repaired at some point. They are good for display but would need to be replaced if the boat was to be restored.
This is a very decorative boat although you may consider restoring her to a sailing condition. If so then a rudder would be required as currently there is only a fixed one.
The stand is not as old as the boat. It is included in the sale if required.
