In 10 years of selling pond yachts Neptune Models are not a company that we have seen before. This makes this model ship very difficult to date.
The hull is carved from solid pine with inbuilt battery boxes and engine mountings. There is some ballast bolted to the bottom of the hull and there is a long skeg which mounts the prop shaft and the rudder. This construction would suggest that she is pre WWII.
The engine, which has not been tested, is stamped Made in England. Both the engine and the mount are original but have been removed from the hull.
The removable superstructure is plywood and both it and the hull have their original paint.
As you can see in the photographs, although she could be displayed, she would benefit from some restoration work.
She is still in her original box although it is in poor condition. It is made of cardboard associated with 1930's yachts and has parcel stamps from the Southern Railway and the Great Western Railway (which operated from 1838 to 1948). It appears that she cost 3 shillings 11 pence to be shipped from St Leonards to Beaconsfield.
This is a very rare pond yacht which deserves to be looked after.
Please have a good look at the photos regarding the condition. Should you require some more or have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
