This Steam Motor Launch was produced in the late 1920's or early 1930's whilst Geoffrey Bowman Jenkins was working with Hobbies of Dereham and producing motor yachts in their name. Later models were sold with the Hobbies-Bowman trade name.
This particular launch is wonderful as she is still in her original wooden box and as a consequence she is in lovely condition for her age. What is remarkable is that in the box are also 2 photos of a young boy with the launch. As there is snow in the photos it appears that he may have been given the launch for Christmas.
The launch is in very good condition with varnished topsides and green below the water line. Although she has been stored in her original box there are areas of paint and varnish loss and areas which have been touched up.
The steam plant and transmission are still in place but have not been tested.
There is a lovely Hobbies transfer on the rear deck.
This is a wonderful opportunity as these launches are very rare especially the early steam driven models.
