The Comet is the largest of the post WWII BR range of Star Production pond yachts.
Due to their vibrant colours the BR's are probably the most decorative and therefore the most collectable of all the Star yachts.
This particular yacht has the round stern of the earlier yachts and bowsprit fittings left over from pre war.
The paintwork is original, green above the waterline and varnish below. This yacht has been sailed so there are some marks on the bottom of the keel. There are also a couple of marks on the bow and a few scratches on the hull. Overall however, the paintwork is in very good condition for her age. The Comet transfers are perfect.
The deck has all its original brass fittings and its varnish finish is original with a lovely colour. There are one or two marks on the deck and 2/3 woodworm holes. They appear to be historical but have treated just in case.
The deck transfer is also in good order.
The sails are original and in good condition with no holes or tears. There are some stains and some faint foxing. Many of the cringles have verdisgris and have corroded. The mainsail stamp is present and correct. All the hooks, spars and bowsies are original.
All large Stars are now very collectable, especially this range.
This particular yacht is in good condition for its age, and with a matching original stand, highly decorative.
