The Star Meteorite is one of the 3 post war BR range of yachts.
In our experience the Meteorite is the rarest of all the post war yachts. It is difficult to understand why this should be, but this is only the third that we have been able to offer for sale in 10 years of buying and selling Stars.
This particular yacht has been sailed so there is some paint loss on the bow and the leading edge of the keel. However, overall the distinctive black and varnish livery is in very good order with just a few marks. The Meteorite transfers on the bow are perfect.
The deck is also in very good condition with its original varnish. There is some loss of varnish on the deck edge.
All the deck fitting are original and the Star transfer is perfect.
The rig is totally original and apart from a few stains the sails are in very good condition with no holes or tears. The mainsail stamp has not faded. The original owner has written his name on the mainsail near the clew.
Overall this yacht is in very good original condition and is a rare opportunity for the Star collector.
The stand is very well made with a descriptive label on each side. However, it is unlikely to be as old as the yacht.
