The Planet is one of the post WWII BR range of Star Production pond yachts.
Due to their vibrant colours the BR's are probably the most decorative and therefore the most collectable of all the Star yachts.
However, on this particular yacht Star have fitted a self steering rudder system which was used on the Super Bermuden range. In 10 years of buying and selling Star yachts this is the first one of this model that we have obtained and we have only seen one other. It is not shown in any of the brochures we have so it is difficult to know how many of these were produced. They may have been only available by special order.
The paintwork is all original, red above the waterline and varnish below. She has  a few marks in the paint but they appear to be from storage. The overall condition of the hull suggests that it is very unlikely that the yacht has been sailed. 
The deck has its original varnish and all the deck fittings are also original. 
The deck transfer, the stand transfer and the bow transfers are perfect. 
The sails are original and in very good condition indeed with no holes or tears and only a couple of small stains. All the spars, hooks and bowsies are original.
All large Stars are now very collectable but this yacht especially so as she is so rare.
